Marilyn M. Paiva, 68, of Hilo died Oct. 20 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired factory worker with the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Red Hats Society.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. Nov. 15 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. wake service. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. Nov. 16 at St. Joseph Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. memorial Mass. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by companion, Alan Mefford of Hilo; sons, Derek (Dawn) Paiva of Honolulu, Joseph Paiva of Kihei, Maui; brothers, Robert (Momi) Diego of Hilo, Nemesio (Anna) Diego of Las Vegas; sister, Vallyrie (Gary) Jardine of Hilo; numerous nieces and nephews.
